Discrete-Time Systems to FIR Filter Design: Explore Signal Processing in the New MOOC from Wolfram U

Recognizing the importance of the topics and the powerful capabilities in the Wolfram Language for signal processing, we set out to develop a fully interactive course about signal and system processing to make the subject accessible to a wide audience. After sharing and reviewing the course materials, notes and experiences we’ve collected from university undergraduate-level courses over many years, this resulting Wolfram U course represents the collaborative efforts of two principal authors, Mariusz Jankowski and Leila Fuladi, and a team of knowledgeable staff. It is our great pleasure to introduce to you the new, free, interactive course Signals, Systems and Signal Processing, which we hope will help you understand and master this difficult but tremendously important and exciting subject.

Classical Ciphers to Digital Signatures Wolfram U Launches New Cryptography Course

Cryptography has been around since time immemorial, and in the modern technological age is an omnipresent, often invisible middleman that helps protect your data. As a field of study, it combines mathematics, computer science, physics and even linguistics. As a tool, it concerns informatics, business, finance, politics, human rights—any sector that deals with personal information or requires communication. In fact, it’s hard to imagine a sector that cryptography does not impact.

Learning Differential Equations in 10 Hours or Fewer with the Wolfram Language

Differential equations are a cornerstone of modern mathematics. From quantum mechanics to population dynamics and stock market predictions, they play a crucial role in understanding the world around us. For this reason, courses on differential equations are core for many undergraduate degrees in the natural sciences, engineering and other fields.

Online Enrichment with Free Daily Study Groups

Students are spending countless hours online for classes this year, pushing educators to offer more engaging and worthwhile virtual content. We debuted Wolfram Daily Study Groups in early April with this in mind, and the results have far surpassed our expectations! Throughout this ongoing program, we’ve been able to keep students, professionals and lifelong learners engaged and connected in an enriching online community. With several Study Groups completed, and more in the works, we thought we’d share some of our successes so far.

Unlocking Next-Level Certification at the Wolfram Data Science Boot Camp

Our second year of the Wolfram Data Science Boot Camp (and the first fully virtual edition) wrapped at the end of July. After completing final project assessments last week and issuing certificates, we can confidently say it was a success! Wolfram U mentors helped dozens of budding data scientists learn the multiparadigm approach and develop valuable skills in analysis, visualization, interface construction and more. Campers collaborated on projects of their own design, earning certifications along the way.

We’re proud of everyone who participated, and their efforts deserve some recognition! So without further ado, here’s a quick recap: how we ran the camp, what kinds of projects we saw and the lowdown on our new Level II Certification program.
