Announcing the 2023 Wolfram Innovator Award Winners

Around the world, experts in computational intelligence have worked to push boundaries in the Wolfram technology stack in unique applications across different fields and disciplines. These leaders are recognized with the Wolfram Innovator Award at the Wolfram Technology Conference.

Wolfram Technology Conference 2022

For more than three decades, Wolfram Research has brought together the most interesting cohort of Wolfram technology users from around the globe to network and learn during its annual Wolfram Technology Conference. This year, I was able to participate in my first conference. I am neither an expert nor even a practitioner of computational science, but rather an enthusiast of the technology industry and a relatively new employee of Wolfram.

My goal in attending was to sit back and soak up as much as I could in panels and discussions with the other attendees and speakers. I was in awe to see the Wolfram technology stack being used in so many unique applications. It was immediately made clear that, despite actively seeking out and promoting unique projects on our blog, I truly had no idea how many different areas are innovating with Wolfram technologies.

Winners of the 2022 One-Liner and Get Visual Competitions

For 11 years, it has been tradition for the Wolfram Technology Conference to push our users to go above and beyond in Wolfram Language with our annual One-Liner Competition. In the competition, users are given a limit of 140 characters to create the most incredible output, which is then judged blindly based on brevity, aesthetics and original use of Wolfram Language.

Announcing the 2022 Wolfram Innovator Award Winners

Our annual Wolfram Technology Conference returned to an in-person gathering October 18–21, 2022, in our headquarter city of Champaign, Illinois, USA. One of our very favorite events that took place during the conference was the Innovator Award ceremony and keynote dinner, where Stephen Wolfram recognized eight exceptional individuals and teams from across fields, disciplines and the world for their computational excellence applying Wolfram technologies in innovative and exciting ways.

A Day in the Life of the Wolfram High School Summer Camp

In July 2022, we officially began the annual Wolfram High School Summer Camp with a single mission: sharpen the campers’ minds and dive deep into topics for the betterment of the future of the world. All campers can agree that this was a life-changing experience. The first mission of camp? Get to know the Zoom Overlords—the camp directors—who marshaled campers through all the activities. Camp challenges started right away!

The Student Perspective: Wolfram Summer School 2022

For the past 20 years, Stephen Wolfram has hosted the annual Wolfram Summer School: four weeks of intensive mentorship and teamwork and the completion of computational and research projects on a variety of topics, ranging from pure math to humanities, engineering, physics and more. Students from all over the world participate in Socratic classroom discussions, lecture series, casual networking events and coding sessions to help them design and complete original projects.

The Winners of the 2021 One-Liner Competition

The Wolfram Language is renowned for simplicity and brevity, and nowhere was that more apparent than at the 10th annual One-Liner Competition, held at the Wolfram Virtual Technology Conference. The contest challenges conference attendees to create the best program possible in 128 characters or fewer (the original length limit of a tweet). With prizes awarded for the three best submissions, competition this year was fierce, but the judges, with only minor bloodshed, were able to settle on a slate of awardees.
