Wolfram Computation Meets Knowledge

A Sneak Peek at Mathematica 8

Continuing with tradition, Wolfram Research Founder and CEO Stephen Wolfram kicked off last month’s Wolfram Technology Conference 2010 by highlighting the year’s top developments and sharing insights on new directions for Wolfram technologies.

This year’s conference keynote featured the unveiling of the forthcoming Mathematica 8, a demonstration of its powerful new functionality, and future opportunities for Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha.

In the first part of this series, Stephen talked about Mathematica‘s “unstoppable momentum” and announced some of the new features coming in Mathematica 8.

In the second part of the series, Stephen demonstrated a number of Mathematica 8’s new features for image processing, probability and statistics, wavelet analysis, and much more.

Stay tuned to the Wolfram Blog for more video highlights from Stephen’s keynote.

  1. Hi there, is it possible to add a link that we can download the video to our iTunes? YouTube has been block in many international locations. Thanks!

  6. I would love for you to show the steps on how you get answers within mathematica. I think that would be a great tool to help us demonstrate mathematics to our students.

I don’t think it’s worthwhile to show the steps, as computer algebra systems take a very different approach to solving problems than humans.
